Patrick J. Burke, 69, of Meshoppen, PA passed away, Thursday, June 2, 2022. Pat was born on August 7, 1952 in Vestal, NY. He was the son of the late John J. and Ethel (Ginader) Burke.

Pat was employed by Sherwood Chevrolet as a mechanic for several years. Pat then moved on to start his own lumber company, Burke’s Lumber. After the lumber company was closed, he continued to be self-employed for several years before he retired.

Pat was the founder of the 109th Civil War living history group. The group of family and close friends marched in every holiday parade for multiple years. Pat was very involved with the history of the United States and keeping that history alive. Pat would spend his free time hunting with wounded veterans and he would take his beloved dog Blue. Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing and target shooting. Pat spent many years water skiing and time with his family on Waneta Lake, NY. He was an avid baseball player and was known for his no hitter baseball games in Vestal NY.

Pat enjoyed teaching his grandchildren gun safety and shooting on his property. Pat was very passionate about specific causes, and he would do what he could to support them.

He was a member of the Free Mason Lodge, Warren # 240, Montrose, PA. Pat enjoyed spending time with his friends and family talking about history and guns. Pat enjoyed his trip back to Waneta Lake and spending time with his son Daniel.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Anita (Craft) Burke, a son, Daniel Burke and daughter in law, Jessica (Dunfee) Burke of Tunkhannock, PA; daughter, Nicole Burke (Burroughs) of North Carolina; two stepsons, Jason Hurlburt of Stevensville, PA and Jeremy Hurlburt of Meshoppen,PA; 8 grandchildren; Bradley, Rachel, Audrey, Lexxus, Jaycee, Olivia, Damien and Darien. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased in death by a sister, Jeananne Bilynski.

Services: A private service will be held at the convenience of the family
