Obituary of John V. Holohan

John V. Holohan, 66, of Montrose, PA passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 with his loving wife by his side.  John was born in Shamokin, PA on August 31, 1955, the son of the late Vincent and Florence (Zimmerman) Holohan.

After graduating from high school, John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.

He was employed for many years by Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority [SEPTA] as a Senior Operations Planner.  While working, he attended college at night and received his degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

John was an avid fly fisherman.  He looked forward to spring when he could go trout fishing on any given day.  He spent many an hour designing and tying his own flies.  John also enjoyed target shooting with his family and good friends.

Another of his interests was discussing war battles and, he especially enjoyed Civil War talk with good friends; he was a true history buff.

John was proud of his Irish heritage, a rebel to the end, and enjoyed his visit to Ireland, with his wife, Donna.  One year he and Donna danced in Philadelphia’s St. Patrick's Day Parade.

One of his endearing traits was his booming voice.  You always knew where he was, a leftover trait from his days as a Marine.

John is survived by his loving wife Donna L. (Wethman) Holohan, their union lasted 36 wonderful years.  Also, by five nieces and nephews, of whom John was so proud, sisters and brother’s in-law, great nieces and nephews, cousins and his very close friends.  He will be dearly missed.

Donations in his memory may be made to True Friends, 16332 SR 706, Montrose, PA 18801
