Obituary of Diane Brooks
Diane M. Brooks
of Montrose, PA
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Diane Brooks went to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at age 66. Born August 17, 1955 in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of the late Sgt. William R. and Mary [Donnelly] Schrader.
Diane graduated from Johnson City High School in 1973. She married her soulmate and best friend, Ron Brooks, on September 21, 1980. Diane came home with Ron to live on the Brooks dairy farm in Rush Twp, a place she very much cherished. The couple personified faithfulness to each other and their three children in the 41 years they shared together.
Diane eventually completed her PhD in Health Psychology at Walden University. She served the community for 20 years as an employee of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY in Nursing Support Services. Diane’s steadfastness, empathy and desire to make a difference propelled her to the position of Administrative Manager of Surgical Units, retiring in 2017.
Diane was a skilled and talented woman volunteering for various health and human services including HJB Support Group for childhood cancer, Broome County Office for Aging, Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child and Weinburg Food Distributers. She was a member of the East Rush United Methodist Church, East Rush, PA and served as treasurer.
All whom loved her dearly will never forget her genuine character, wisdom, gracious spirit and truly tender heart despite her strong exterior. Diane was steadfast in her beliefs and convictions, as well as her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
