Ward H. Decker

of Montrose, PA

 

Ward H. “Butch” Decker, 76, of Montrose, PA passed away, Friday, January 7, 2022 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center surrounded by his family.  Born December 3, 1945 in Sayre, PA, he was the son of the late Burgess L. and Bernice M. [Post] Decker.

 

He was a Dairy Farmer, farming on the land that was his parents and where he grew up.

 

He enjoyed bowling, hunting in his younger years, and still enjoyed mowing his yard. In his later years he loved going to truck pulls with his son-in-law, Will.

 

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Linda [Allen] Decker of Montrose, PA, daughter, Amy Hitchcock (Will) of Montrose, PA, son, Scott Decker of Montrose, PA and daughter, Holly Decker of Montrose, PA. Beloved grandchildren; Katie Hitchcock, Megan Hitchcock, Nickolas Crosson, and Safia Decker; a sister, Patricia Franks (David) of Montrose, PA, brother-in-law, Larry Allen (Jean) of Montrose, PA, Jerry Allen of Montrose, PA, and sister-in-law Cindy Estell (Dale) of Montrose, PA, and several nieces and nephews.

 

His brother, Ron Decker, sister, Sandra Overfield, and nephew, Jeff Decker predeceased him.

 

 

Services:   10:00 am on Wednesday, January 12 at Bartron Myer Funeral Home, 382 Church Street, Montrose, PA

Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
