Obituary of David Hibbard

David L. Hibbard
of Montrose, PA

David Hibbard, 76, of Montrose, PA passed away, Tuesday, September 21, 2021.  Born August 20, 1945 in Rush, PA, he was the son of the late Louis W. and Jean [Grow] Hibbard.  His wife of 51 years Judith [Severs] Hibbard also predeceased him in 2016.

He worked for the PA Dept of Agriculture in Disease Control.

David was a long-standing member of Fairdale Community United Methodist Church.  David gave a lot back to his community; he was a Master for the Boy Scouts, a 40-year member of the F&A.M. Harford Lodge # 445, Hop Bottom, PA, coached kids baseball for 19 years, was active at the Lawton Senior Center, 48-year member of the Fairdale Grange #1157 and was Master for 23 years, was a member of the Montrose Area School Board for 14 years and was able to give diplomas to each of his children.

He will be greatly missed by his significant other, Alexis Churm, a daughter and son-in-law, Sheri A. & Jim E. Minarsky of Montrose, PA, sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel R. & Julie M. Hibbard of Montrose, PA, Anthony D. & Shannon J. Hibbard of Zephyrhills, FL and Chris E. & Jennifer K. Hibbard of Montrose, PA, his dear grandchildren; Nathan (Jess), TJ  (Brittany), Katelyn (Paul), Joshua, Nina (Nate), Sadie, Taylor, Brent, Brianne and Shane, his great-grandchild Indie Renee and was anxiously awaiting a great-grandson, sisters Jeanne Yurgatis (Carl) of Lacyville, PA and Norma McNeal (David Goff) of Montrose, PA, brothers Wayne Hibbard (Dorothy) of Montrose, PA and Donald Hibbard (Carole) of Dimock, PA and his nieces and nephews.  David is predeceased by his daughter Teresa B. Hibbard.

Services: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 28, at Fairdale Community United Methodist Church, Fairdale, PA 
Visitations: 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, September 27, at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Montrose, PA and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until time of services.
