Henrietta Krug, 89, of Montrose, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at the Meadowview Healthcare Facility. Born June 12, 1931, in Paterson, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Catherine [Koning] Vander Ploeg. Her husband William H. Krug predeceased her in 1988.
She was employed as a nurse at Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ retiring in 1961.
Grandma Krug, as she was known and loved by all, was a member of the Montrose Bible Church. Many will remember her as the lollipop lady, as she loved giving out lollipops to the children after church every Sunday. Her life revolved around her family, and she proudly told anyone who would listen that she had “six kids in 6 1/2 years.....” Yes, we can imagine many smiles right now.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Stranburg (Steven) of Montrose, PA, sons, William J. Krug (Laura) of Butte, MT, Edward K. Krug (Arlene) of Susquehanna, PA, James D. Krug of Glenside, PA, Thomas R. Krug (Grace) of Helena, MT, David A. Krug (Peng) of Riverdale, NJ, 23 Grandchildren, and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Services: 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at South New Milford Baptist Church, 2967 Harford Road, New Milford, PA
Visitation: 1 hour prior to services at church
