John E. Mooney, 78, of Brackney, PA passed away, Monday, December 7, 2020. Born March 15, 1942 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Edward P. and Barbara E. [Busch] Mooney.
He was employed as a Custodian in the Montrose School District for over 27 years.
He was a member of Bridgewater Church, where he was a small group leader and past Deacon
Additionally, he was a 60-year member of the Silver Lake Fire Co., in Brackney. When his children were in high school, he was a Band Parent for the Montrose Marching Band.
John trained and served with many ambulance and rescues in the area, including Superior Ambulance, where he was instrumental in the start up of the Heart Mobile, Silver Lake Rescue Squad, Town of Vestal Rescue Squad, Town of Union Rescue Squad and the Montrose Minute Men.
Survivors include his wife of almost 54 years, Candace L. [Stanton] Mooney, a daughter and son-in-law, Amy Joy Mooney Foster (Kenneth) of Montrose, PA, son and daughter-in-law, Andrew J. Mooney (Diane) of Montrose, PA, 6 Grandchildren; Karalyn, Benjamin, Caleb, Hannah, Cade and Kiara, a sister Judith Kittle of Maine, NY, nieces and nephews.
