Richard C. Berish (Rick), aged 44, of Franklin, OH passed away on Tuesday Oct 27 of natural causes. Rick was an Eagle Scout, captain of his high school academic team and was selected by his classmates to give the graduation address at Milford, OH High School.
While attending Purdue University, Rick contracted viral encephalitis which affected his speech and memory. After months of hard work and therapy he overcame the effects of the virus and went on to finish his undergraduate work at Wilmington College. At Wilmington he took a law class and fell in love with the law. He entered the University of Dayton Law School, graduated 26th in his class and passed the bar exam on his first try.
Following Law School, Rick was hired by Lexis Nexis in 2006 where he worked for 14 years earning several promotions with increasing responsibilities and contributions until his passing.
He enjoyed sports and was a terrific cook. He had a vibrant sense of humor and his one liners were classic. He made friends easily, was loyal and kind-hearted and will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Rick is survived by his parents Richard J. and Dolores Berish, his sister Diane Berish and extended family.
