Obituary of Matthew K. Fearnley

Matthew K. Fearnley of Montrose, PA Matthew K. Fearnley, 35, of Montrose, PA passed away, Tuesday, March 3, 2020, after a battle with Dystonia. Born October 24, 1984, in Johnson City, NY, he was the son of Robert W. and Dawn M. [Kane] Fearnley, Montrose. He graduated from Montrose Senior High School in 2003 as the Salutatorian. He then earned a bachelor’s degree from Lock Haven University and a master’s degree from Wilkes University. He taught Math in the high school at Northeast Bradford School District and was the National Honor Society Advisor. A member of Forest Lake Baptist Church he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a Board member of Child Evangelism Fellowship in Montrose and volunteered at the summer camp ministry. Additionally, he served on the board and was Treasurer of Birchardville Cemetery Association, was President of Birchardville School House Association, a longtime volunteer with the annual Blueberry Festival in Montrose, and was involved with the Republican Party in Susquehanna County as a member of the C-Club and previously was as a committeeperson from Forest Lake Township and was the former President of Young Republican Club. His gift was teaching and loved his students young and old alike. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, gardening and hunting. In addition to his parents, survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Jeremiah [Nicole] Fearnley of Little Meadows, PA, nieces, Hannah & Emma Fearnley, maternal grandmother, Dolores Kane of Montrose, uncle, Franz Fearnley of Irish Hill, PA, aunts, Susan Fearnley of St. Petersburg, FL, and Dixie [Jim] Nowik of Montrose, and special great aunt, Mackie Skinner of Montrose. His maternal grandfather, E. Ray Kane and paternal grandparents, Franz & Edna Fearnley, predeceased him. Services: 11:00 am Saturday at Forest Lake Baptist Church,11439 Forest Lake Road, Montrose, PA 18801.
