Stephen J. Molnar, Jr.
of Montrose, PA
Stephen J. Molnar, Jr., 80, of Montrose, PA passed away, Friday, June 21, 2019 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Wilkes Barre, PA. Born June 5, 1939 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Stephen J. and Frances [Arthur] Molnar.
Stephen enlisted in the US Army right out of high school in 1957. He was an enthusiastic young man looking to serve his country. After graduating Basic Training in Fort Dix New Jersey, he began training as a tank driver in an armor company. After Stephen’s military service he became an elevator mechanic. He joined the union of elevator constructors. In 1998 he was awarded the Certificate of Honor by the international union of elevator constructors.
Stephen was a member of American Legion, Montrose. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, hunting and going to Florida in the winter, but most importantly he was a man who loved his family.
Survivors include wife, Patricia R. Gundacker Molnar, daughter & fiancé, Denise Molnar [Paul Brew] of Mount Bethel, PA, son & daughter-in-law, Stephen [Joanne] Molnar of Seaford, NY, 5 grandchildren, Stephen, Jennifer, Joanna, Conor, Carley, brother, Arthur Molnar of FL and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Lorretta Vinciguerra, predeceased him.
Services: 7:00 pm Monday at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA 18801.
Visitation: 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday
