Frances H. Allen

of Montrose, PA


Frances H. Allen, 80, of Montrose, PA passed away, Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Meadow View Senior Living Center, Montrose, PA.  Born November 22, 1938 in Montrose, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary [Kacuba] Hawley.  Her husband Harold “Bucky” Allen predeceased her.


A Registered Nurse, she was employed by Endless Mountains Health Systems as Operating Room Supervisor. She was a member of the AORN; Association of periOperative Registered Nurses.


She was a member of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and a religious education instructor [CCD].


She was a volunteer and CPR instructor for the American Red Cross, an active member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, Montrose and the Friendship Club.


Survivors include Son, H.T. [Marcy] Allen of Great Bend, PA, daughters & son-in-law, Patricia “Trish” Allen of Montrose, PA, Barbara & Mark Fitzgerald of Waynesboro, VA, grandchildren, Jessica [Blake] Mehlhaff, Katie [David] Slaybaugh, James Barnett, Jeremy [Elizabeth] Allen, Gabriel Maginley, Elijah Maginley, step grandchildren, Katie[Brian] Bartels, Dustin Squier, [Megen Rosenkrans], Jesse [Regina] Squier, great grandchildren, Olivia, Maddie, Hunter, Mason, Lincoln, nieces, nephews, and cousins.


In addition to her parents and husband, her daughter, Kathleen S. Allen, and sister, Margaret Lewis predeceased her.


Services: 10:00 am Saturday at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, Montrose, PA  18801.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.  A Prayer service will be offered at 5:30 PM
