Obituary of Joseph T. Barnett
On November 13, 2018 Joseph T. Barnett Jr., age 75, passed away at his home in Montrose, Pennsylvania with his loving wife by his side. He walked on into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior.
Joe was born on November 4th, 1943 in Phoenixville, PA. He was the son of Beatrice Detwiler and Joseph T. Barnett Sr. In 1961 he graduated Phoenixville High School. After working a couple area jobs he was hired by the Royersford Police Department in 1965 and graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 1966. About two year later he transferred to the Lower Pottsgrove Police Department where he would become Sgt. Joseph Barnett. After 13 years with the police force, he went on to work multiple jobs within the community until moving to Montrose and finding his career job with the Southern Tier Aids Program (STAP) where he would retire from in 2014.
Throughout his life he was a member of the Friendship Hook and Ladder Fire Company and ambulance crew and the Humane Fire Company, both of Royersford, and the Sanatoga Fire Company and Ringing Hill Fire Company, both of Pottstown. Joe also served as a Boy Scout Master, worked with the local Red Cross, loved to travel, and organized mission trips to Ghana and the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota which had very special meaning for him. He was a member and currently served as an Elder with the First Presbyterian Church in Montrose.
In 1963 Joe married Sandra Lee Clemens, and recently celebrated their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary. Together they have three children, Joseph Theadore III and spouse Lynn, Suzanne Lynn wife of Gregory Henry, Robert William and spouse Lynn Senick, two grand children Charles Joseph Henry and Nicole Lee Henry, and a brother Clifford Lee Barnett and spouse Carol.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 17th, 2018 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church on 367 Church Street Montrose, Pa. officiated by Rev. Jason Clapper.
Visitation will be 9:30 am until the time of service.

On December 8th additional services will be held in Phoenixville, PA, his hometown.
