Dorothy Bartholomay Arrowsmith, 89, of the Landing of Collegeville formerly of Vandling and Montrose, PA died at Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville, PA on November 7, 2018. She was the widow of Richard Arrowsmith and the daughter of Adolph and Anna (Mead) Bartholomay.
She is survived by her son, Richard D Arrowsmith, his wife Deborah of Gilbertsville, her three grandsons Jeffrey, his wife Jessica of Gilbertsville, Bradley, his wife Caitlin of Gilbertsville, and Kyle, his wife Alexandra of Emmaus. In addition, she was loved by four great grandchildren, Hayden, Addison, Eleana and Auden. Dorothy is also survived by her sister, Joan Kigerl of Dothan, AL and her sister-in-law, Barbara Bartholomay of State College, PA plus several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Bartholomay.
After graduating from high school, Dorothy began a career in banking first in Forest City, PA then in Montrose, PA at County National Bank where she retired in 1986.
Dorothy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in which she served as a Past Matron and as a District Deputy. She was involved with the Red Hats of Montrose and Gulf Shores, AL, where she spent many winters.
Services: November 13, 2018, 1:00 pm at St Paul’s Episcopal Church, 276 Main St., Montrose, PA.
