Obituary of Glenn Thompson

Glenn D. Thompson, Sr., 63, of Meshoppen, PA passed away, Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his home.  Born December 8, 1954 in Trucksville, PA, he was the son of the late Donald A. and Jane [Shulthers] Thompson.

 

He was employed for 24 years at Proctor and Gamble, Mehoopany, retiring in 1999.

 

A member of the Springville United Methodist Church, he enjoyed participating in the “Walk to Emmaus” program and was the best coffee server at the Saturday morning breakfasts.

 

During his earlier years, he was a member of the DeMolay, transporting veterans.

 

He loved traveling and identified himself as a, "professional tourist".   He was a huge baseball fan, attending hundreds of games, diligently attending a Major League baseball game for 53 straight years. He was in every Stadium that the Major League Baseball plays in.  He was always a St. Louis Cardinals fan,

 

He was the “self-proclaimed” president of the “The Three Stooges Fan Club”.

 

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, April Dawn Thompson, sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce D. Thompson (Jessica) of Maxton, NC, Glenn D. Thompson of Lumberton, NC, Adam McGraw(Lisa), Sean McGraw (Lorie), Jason McGraw (Gina), grandsons, Christian James, and Gavin Alexander and 6 other grandchildren, 8 Great-grandchildren, a brother and sister-in-law, William Thompson (Fran) of Moscow, PA, and a nephew.

 

Services: 10:00 am Saturday at Springville United Methodist Church, Springville, PA.

 

Visitation: 9:00 am until time of service on Saturday at the church.

 

Graveside;  2:00 pm Saturday at Memorial Shrine Park, 1831 W. 8th Street, Wyoming, PA

 

Instead of flowers: memorial contributions may be made to Meshoppen Cat Rescue, 355 Hearen Bound Lane, Meshoppen, PA  18630, or Hospice of The Sacred Heart, 100 William Street, Dunmore, PA  18512
