Robert Floyd Wright, 92, of Jersey City, NJ and Montrose, PA, passed away, Friday, May 18, 2018 at his home. Born October 28, 1925 in Lansing, MI, he was the son of the late C. Floyd and Margaret [Gibbs] Wright.
He was a graduate of Michigan State University and obtained an MBA from the Stern School of Business of New York University.
He was a Trustee of New York University and Chaired the Audit Committee of the university for over twenty-five years.
He served with distinction in World War II in the Battle of the Bulge receiving two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.
He had a successful career as a Partner with a large accounting firm and upon retirement from such firm started his own consulting company. He was a member of many corporate boards and sat on the Board of The Town Hall Foundation and The Greenwich House Settlement Foundation.
Bob was greatly respected by his peers, touched many lives, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Wright, a son, Winston F. Wright of Montrose, PA, grandchildren, Maureen & Paul Huizinga, Timothy Wright, Eric [Brittany]Wright, MacKenzie [Amanda] Wright, great-grandchildren, Penny, Sarah, Nathaniel, Iain, Thomas, Fanny, Joshua, Greyson, Julie, and Nora, a sister Virginia Ouellette, a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Arthur [Patricia] Wright, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, his first wife Anne, a daughter Barbara Ann, a daughter-in-law, Virginia Wright, and a brother-in-law, Edward Ouellette, pre-deceased him.
Services: will begin Tuesday 9:00 AM at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA continuing with a Mass at 10:00 am at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, Montrose, PA.
Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
