John R. Washak, 88, of Montrose, PA passed away, Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Hospice of The Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore, PA. Born December 27, 1929 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Josephine Washak.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War earning the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars.
John retired from Binghamton Container 1995. He was a member of Antique Automotive Club of America (AACA), and the United Paperworkers International Union.
He enjoyed his antique car shows and loved his 1976 Ford Granada he called “Betsy” He won many awards with his car including a grand national title.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Agatha Washak of Montrose, PA, a daughter, Kathleen Washak, son, Robert Washak (Cathy Bernhardt) of Montrose, PA, also survived by many nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, the significant other of his daughter, David Black, predeceased him.
