Obituary of James Ketterer

James Michael Ketterer

of New Milford, PA

James Michael Ketterer, 75, of New Milford, PA passed away, Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Brookeville, MD surrounded by immediate family.  Born October 28, 1942 in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Norman and Opal Ketterer.  His wife Mary [Atherton] Ketterer predeceased him.

He was the Harford Township Supervisor for many years serving as Road Master of award winning township roads under his supervision.  James and his wife received a stewardship award in 2006 from The Countryside Conservancy recognizing their efforts at Beaver Meadow Farm.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, was a member of the American Legion,  the Rotary Club of New Milford, receiving the Paul Harris Fellowship Award, and the Harford Lodge #445 F.&A.M., Hop Bottom, Pa.

Survivors include son & daughter-in-law, James Atherton & Mary Kathleen Ketterer, of Brookeville, MD, grandchildren, Kathleen Evelyn Ketterer and, James Atherton Ketterer, Jr., sister and brother-in-law, Norma Jean & Harden Haines of Hannibal, MO, brother and sister-in-law, Don & Rodna Ketterer of Midway, AR.

In addition to his parents and wife, his brothers, Jerry and Edward, predeceased him.

James enjoyed manicuring and sharing the grounds of his farm, ponds and wetlands with family,  friends and his beagle Willy.

Services: 10:00 am Friday at First Congregational Church Of Harford UCC, Harford, PA..

Visitation: 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Thursday at the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc. Montrose, PA

            Masonic Services will be held Thursday at 6:45 PM
