Obituary of Joseph Crowley

Dr. Joseph A. Crowley, 56, passed into the arms of our Lord on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Wilson Hospital, Johnson City, NY.  Born January 30, 1961 in Montrose, PA, he was the son of the late Edward M. and Eleanor [Robinson] Crowley.


A graduate of Montrose High School and Penn State University, he earned a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania.  He owned and operated Montrose Veterinary Clinic and was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.


He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church in Vestal, NY.


He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan, daughters: Brielle, Lauren, Nikki and Natalie, sons: Joseph II, Samuel, and Daniel, granddaughter, Kinsley, parents-in-law, Raymond and Nikki Stanton, sister Myrna C. Meehan, brother, John M. Crowley, numerous in-laws and over 50 beloved nieces and nephews from the Crowley and Stanton families. Joseph was pre-deceased by sisters, JoAn Shoemaker and Michelle Kelleher, and brother, Michael Crowley.


For nearly 25 years, Joe (“Doc”), along with his dedicated and talented staff, was adored by the Montrose community. Joe loved Penn State Football and the Pittsburgh Steelers, but more than anything he was a loving father who cherished Sundays with his family and times spent watching his children in all of their endeavors. 


Joe was greatly respected and will be terribly missed by all who knew him.


Services: 10:00 am Monday at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, 278 S. Main Street, Montrose, PA 18801  Please go directly to church. 

Visitation: 1:00-3:00 PM on Sunday at the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA 18801

  A prayer service will be held at 12:45 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
