William A. ‘Bill” Smith, 70, of Fairdale, PA passed away, Saturday, December 8, 2018 at his home. Born December 28, 1947 in Montrose, PA, he was the son of the late Wilfred T. and Bernice [Rose] Smith.
He operated a Dairy Farm and stone quarry for many years. A 1965 graduate of the Montrose High School, he also worked for the Montrose Borough, the former Wyco's John Deere dealership, Ken Morrison, and Montrose Hanger.
He was a Jessup Township Supervisor, member of the Fairdale Cemetery Association Board, delegate to Land O Lakes, an avid deer hunter and loved the outdoors.
Loved his grandchildren.
Survivors include Son and fiancé, Bill Smith [Anna Wagner] of Fairdale, PA, daughter & son-in-law, Paula [Doug] Cook of Fairdale, PA, grandchildren, Ellie [Darryl], Wyatt, Beth, great-grandchildren, Emily, Soraya, his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth “Sam” Smith, brother & sister-in-law, Jim [LouAnn] Smith of Montrose, PA, sister, Phyllis Smith of Montrose, PA, nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, a sister Marjorie Kenner, and brothers Dick, Ron, and Bobbie Smith predeceased him.
Services: 11:00 am Wednesday at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA 18801.
Visitation: 7:00 pm-9:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
