Anne Mizerak, 95, of Montrose, PA passed away, Monday, June 5, 2017 at her home. Born October 3, 1921, in Dickson City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Anastasia (Pawszyk) Benio.
She was raised and lived on a farm for many years, but later worked at the former hanger and shoe factories in Montrose. She was a member of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church and was a devoted Christian. She was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and the Susquehanna County Federated Democratic Women’s Club. She loved flowers, gardening and yard work. You could often find her tending to her flower beds. She also loved cooking, baking and canning, all of which she was well known for. Sewing and crocheting were past times she was lesser know for yet still enjoyed. Polka music and dancing were favorites of hers and she could often be found watching and listening to Pennsylvania Polka on a Saturday evening and had even attended a taping of the show. She also loved listening to Daniel O’Donnell and Celtic Thunder and had attended several of their concerts.
She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew J. Mizerak, a daughter, Patricia A. Wood, an infant grandson, brothers; Frank, John and Michael and sisters; Frances and Mary and her son-in-law, W. Earle Wood.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Darleen A. Wood of Montrose, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her great-granddog, Bailey, who brought her much joy and love.
Services: Monday will begin at 10 am at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Montrose continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, Montrose, PA.
Visitation: Sunday from 2:00-4:00 pm at the funeral home. A prayer service will be offered.
