Josephine “Jo” Dillon, 94, of Montrose, PA passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Gracious Living Estates Personal Care Home, South Montrose, PA.  Born July 10, 1923 in Montrose, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rodney and Lena (Corbett) Jewett.  Her husband, Lawrence Dillon, predeceased her on October 28, 1998.  They had celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Jo retired from The Bendix Aviation Corp. (Allied-Signal) South Montrose, PA, in 1988 after 30 years of service.   Although starting in the Planning Department, she completed her career there as an Executive Secretary.  She was a dedicated employee fondly known as “Mother Dillon” to many of her co-workers.

She was a lifelong member of the Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Montrose where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.  She was also a member of the Legion of Mary at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Friendsville, PA where she formed numerous friendships.  Jo was known for a sincere devotion to her faith and her particular devotion to St. John Neumann.  Her love of the Church and her family were first and foremost in her life.  She was a great listener and a model of grace under pressure.  She lived her life with great optimism and never said an unkind word about anyone.  Her happiest times were those spent at her beloved Gunsmoke, the property she shared with her husband near Silver Lake, PA.

Jo enjoyed the Jewett family and served on the Board of Directors of The Jewett Family of America, Inc.  She was a mainstay of the local Jewett family gatherings and served as their secretary/treasurer for many years.  She had attended the first reunion in 1924, and, although in failing health, attended the 94th annual reunion shortly before her death.

Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Alan & Joann Reimel of Montrose, PA, grandchildren & spouses, Paul (Cynthia) Reimel, Jeffrey (Laurie) Reimel, Matthew (Wendy) Reimel, Michael Dillon, and Suzanne Dillon, and her great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Dillon, and Natalie Reimel, cousins, nieces & a nephew.
