Mark Robert Wood, 56, of Montrose, PA passed away, Monday, December 18, 2017 at his home. Born December 26, 1960 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of Joan (Charles) Wood and the late Donald C. Wood.
Mark was a 1979 graduate of Elk Lake High School then furthered his studies at Broome Community College and received an Associate Degree.
He was formerly employed at the former Bendix Corporation and was the past Susquehanna County Emergency Management Coordinator.
He was a life member of Montrose United Fire Company, was past President, current Vice President and Fire Police Captain. Additionally, President of the County Fire Police Association, past President of Northeast Pennsylvania Volunteer Fireman’s Federation and was a state certified instructor. Mark was also a Republican Committee Person for Dimock Township, volunteered with Red Cross as a First Aid instructor and a member of the Dimock Community Church.
He formerly played the organ at Dimock Community Church for more than 20 years and enjoyed baking cookies for others and playing piano.
In addition to his mother, survivors include, sons and daughter-in-law, Joshua Mark & Chelsi Wood of Mansfield, PA, and Adam Donald Wood of Bowling Green, OH, granddaughters, Rachel & Courtney and aunts, uncles and cousins.
