Various veterans’ benefits may be available to the survivors of a deceased veteran. 
Here at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., we will fill out the necessary paperwork for our families if any veteran benefits apply.

Veterans Benefits Include:
*Individual Pennsylvania County Cash Benefits 
*United States Flag
 (Some Pennsylvania counties pay a small portion towards the installation of the VA marker or stone)
*Burial in a National Cemetery 
*Federal VA Benefits (if applicable)

Necessary Documents needed for us to apply for your benefits:
*Military Discharge form (DD214)
* Any disabled veteran paperwork (if applicable)

Listed below are what we offer to honor our veterans:

  • Drape the stretcher with the American Flag from the place of death to the funeral home
  • Displaying the American Flag from our front porch during the service of a veteran (weather permitting)
  • Adhere large magnetic emblems for the branch of service the deceased veteran served to the side of the vehicle that is taking body to its final resting place
  • “Patriot walk.” We will install a row of flags on each side of the “path” to the gravesite at the cemetery
  • We will continue putting the color flag on the front board with the veterans name
  • We will call upon our local veteran organizations to honor the veteran at the cemetery
  • The funeral home will continue to make families aware of any veteran benefits that they may be entitled to and take care of processing the paperwork for them
  • We are a drop off site for retired flags so that it can be retired properly
