As legal proof of death, all or some companies and institutions involved with survivor benefits require a certified death certificate.   It must also be presented to change a title of ownership from the deceased’s name to that of the survivor.  The funeral home will order the number of certificates at the time of death and they will be mailed directly to you from our local registrar. Arrival time is about a 10-14 days. If you need additional copies, please contact us at any time so either we can order more for you or get you the website or proper forms to order them yourself.  Currently the wait time on ordering additional certificates is 12-16 weeks. The only method of obtaining additional certificates is through PA Vital Records via mail or online.   They are not available from the local courthouse. Making copies of the certified death certificate is illegal  For deaths that have occurred in other states, please contact us for proper instructions on ordering.
